Counselling & Psychotherapy in Stockport & Buxton, Derbyshire

Could you benefit from a space to explore your thoughts and feelings?
... to reconnect with yourself, and find out what's right for you?

I am Hayley Marshall and I have been in full-time private practice as a psychotherapist and counsellor in the Stockport/South Manchester area for 16 years. Before that I trained as a classical musician, and worked freelance as a performer and teacher in London and the North West. I am married and have 2 grown up children.

Currently, I see clients for counselling, psychotherapy, and supervision in my private practice in Stockport, South Manchester, and in Buxton, Derbyshire. I also offer training in both indoor and outdoor psychotherapy.
I am a fully qualified UKCP Registered Psychotherapist, as well as being ITA Registered, and a supervisor and trainer endorsed by EATA. I am also Consultant Psychotherapist for The Wilderness Foundation UK
I work with individuals, couples and groups on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling people to explore and work through their difficulties. I am committed to providing psychotherapy in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.

I am experienced in helping people with

  • Stress
  • Relationships (including couples counselling/therapy)
  • Panic Attacks and Anxiety
  • Parenting
  • Bereavement
  • Self esteem
  • Work issues
  • Childhood Abuse
  • Depression
  • Life stage issues
  • Personal Growth
  • General 'stuckness'/lack of direction

My area of special interest lies in working with the process of how people relate to each other, and themselves. Exploring how we may use creative self protective measures that sometimes get in the way of a more fulfilling style of relating. I use the therapeutic relationship, as a tool to help with understanding these dynamics, and to facilitate personal and interpersonal change.I am also very interested in our experience of the natural environment as a therapeutic intervention, and work with people outside if they wish to do so.

My counselling and psychotherapy private practice is based at the South Manchester Centre for Psychotherapy in the Heaton Moor area of Stockport, and at my home office in Buxton, Derbyshire. These are within easy reach of South Manchester and towns in the High Peak.
